I know nothing about the patches. There were a great number of D10 patches floating around a while ago, and they were quite easy to convert to GUS patches. I have d'loaded three or four programs for my D10 keyboard. They are supposed to be file/patch managers but I haven't had luck with ANY of them. With Livewire audio's d10 "tones" sampler, they give you two programs to send patches to the d10 with -- MIDIEX and QS. Both need an MPU401 interface but even with the Beta Megaem, I can't get the patches to transfer. With the Windows Midi Watcher, I am totally confused on how it works (just in case someone mentiones the program. I will try to contact the programmer). With Midimenu for DOS, I can use megaem and get the program to recognize the MPU interface (I think), but it won't access my keyboard's patch dump). So, are there other programs? Are there limitations to the Megaem MPU-401 interface emulation? Am I lost? thanks. -- *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* | Loren Kling | * lkling@ucssun1.sdsu.edu * | SAN DIEGO STATE UNIVERSITY | *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 7 Apr 1995 14:49 -0400 From: WADLEIGH@PROCESS.COM Subject: Re: Roland disks The MIDI sequences were designed for Sound Canvas products, like the SCC-1. The patches were to help adapt them to the GUS. THere is a utility to convert them from PC format to Roland disk format. Perhaps with a little programming, you can convert the samples to GUS format. (I might see if this is feasable after my exams.) are Roland's as well? Do you know the sizes of them or anything? How easy would it be to convert Roland patches to GUS patches? I have had several requests for the patches. Some people say they've tried to sample some, but had no luck with brushes. It would be nice if at least the patches could be released. => regarding patch sizes, my W30 patches always managed to fit into one 1.44 disk. THere are always more or more patches and the largest patches are the piano samples. _______ / DISCS National University of Singapore ) / Internet: fongsiul@iscs.nus.sg )RIAN FONG / a.k.a. the_JazZMaN_ B') -Christian-GUSser-jazz-r&b-bassguitar-synth-tennis-ST&SW-Xmen- ------------------------------ End of GUS Musician's Digest V14 #8 *********************************** To post to tomorrow's digest: To (un)subscribe or get help: To contact a human (last resort): FTP Sites Archive Directories --------- ------------------- Main N.American Site: archive.orst.edu pub/packages/gravis wuarchive.wustl.edu systems/ibmpc/ultrasound freedom.nmsu.edu pub/ultrasound Main Asian Site: nctuccca.edu.tw PC/ultrasound Main European Site: src.doc.ic.ac.uk packages/ultrasound Main Australian Site: ftp.mpx.com.au /ultrasound/general /ultrasound/submit South African Site: ftp.sun.ac.za /pub/packages/ultrasound Submissions: archive.epas.utoronto.ca pub/pc/ultrasound/submit Newly Validated Files: archive.epas.utoronto.ca pub/pc/ultrasound Mirrors: garbo.uwasa.fi mirror/ultrasound ftp.st.nepean.uws.edu.au pc/ultrasound ftp.luth.se pub/msdos/ultrasound Gopher Sites Menu directory ------------ -------------- Main Site: src.doc.ic.ac.uk packages/ultrasound WWW Pages --------- Main Site: http://www.xmission.com/~grue/gus.html Main European Site: http://src.doc.ic.ac.uk/packages/ultrasound/ Main Australian Site: http://ftp.mpx.com.au/archive/ultrasound/general/ http://ftp.mpx.com.au/archive/ultrasound/submit/ http://ftp.mpx.com.au/gravis.html Mirrors: http://www.st.nepean.uws.edu.au/pub/pc/ultrasound/ GUS digest: http://gpu.srv.ualberta.ca/~itam/digest.html MailServer For Archive Access: Email to Email to New Submit Files Mailing List: Email to with content "subscribe epas-list " Hints: - Get the FAQ from the FTP sites or the request server. - Mail to for info about other GUS related mailing lists (general use, programmers, etc.).
